Common misconception about robotic spine surgery is that complete procedure is done by a robot, however this is inaccurate. A robotic arm can move by itself. A console is attached to robot’s equipment. The surgeon then supervises each and every movement of the robotic arm in the complete surgical procedure. As per research there are several benefits of robotic spine surgery are accomplished with minimally surgical methods and equipment’s. it is important to remember that prior and later all along the procedure the surgical robots used for spine injury completely rely on imaging and navigation. The most compelling technology that is not dependent on robot is navigation. Contrariwise conventional surgeries have shown contrarily the level of precision, negligible openings, prevention of soft tissue, nominal blood loss, less operating times and lessened radiation contact. Aim of Robotic Spine Surgery In today’s time when technology is so advance robotic spine surgery is avant-garde and favourable for individuals with stringent disorders or disease in spine. Patients who are facing difficulty in leading a normal life and performing their daily tasks are the ones who might be the one in need of surgery. In many cases when any physical therapy or medication is not beneficial, then surgery is the last resort. Conditions where surgical treatment is required: Scoliosis It is a muscular disorder linked to spine or nervous system is known as scoliosis. It generally affects the kids who are in between age 10 year and 14 years. There are several other reasons that effects the aggressive spinal curvature affects the spine. Degenerative Disc Disease Severe neck and back pain are caused by worsening of the spinal discs in spine. Furthermore, it can conclude in unbearable pain and numbness in arms and legs. Herniated Disc Herniation is a rupture of spinal disc that occurs again and again and is much like degenerative disc disease. Kyphosis This is a disorder that strike lumbar, upper back and cervical. Several types of complex deformity are also there which includes postural Kyphosis, Neuromuscular Kyphosis, Degenrative Kyphosis, Traumatic Kyphosis, Cogenital Kyphosis, Osteoporosis-related Kyphosis and a few others. Spondylolisthesis In this disorder the patient’s vertebra slides ahead into the bone below in this condition. It restricts the spinal cord or the nerve roots and generally the lower spine. Relentless back pain and weakness/numbness in legs are all because of spondylolisthesis. Robotic Spine surgery is satisfactory treatment for all the conditions mentioned above, as it can assist patients in reconstructing patients’ quality of life. The most reasonably evaluated treatment option in India, is Robotic Spine Surgery. There are several other circumstances that are similar disorder where Robotic surgery is required such as: Coronary artery bypass Gallbladder removal Hip replacement Hysterectomy Kidney removal Mitral valve repair Pyeloplasty Pyloroplasty Radical prostatectomy Tubal ligation It’s important to remember that not all spine surgeries need Robotic surgery. Spinal Tumor Tumor is abnormal mass of rapidly growing cells without any physiological function. That means it does not perform any function for the body but derives its nutrition from the body. It can occur anywhere in the body. The cause is unknown. Those tumors that are found in and around the spinal cord are known as spinal tumors. They may be primary tumors whose cells of origin is the spinal tissue, or they may be secondary tumors which have spread (metastasize) via blood stream from some other focus in the body. The spinal cord is covered by a layer of protective tissue called as meninges. The entire spinal cord is encased within the vertebral column. Following are different types of Spinal tumours based on there cancerous or non-cancerous behavior. Benign bone tumors are of following types: Giant Cell Tumor: Usually found in the sacrum Hemangioma: Usually found in the thoracic spine Osteoid Osteoma: Usually found to affect the lumbar spine's posterior spinal column Osteoblastoma: Usually found to affect the spine's posterior spinal column Malignant bone tumors are classified as follows: Chordoma: Affects the sacrum and coccyx in the midline Osteosarcoma: affect the anterior vertebral body and it may also invade the Posterior spinal elements. Malignant cartilage tumor: Chondrosarcoma: Found primarily in the thoracic, lumbar, and sacral spine Malignant plasma cell tumors: Plasmacytoma is cancer of the white blood cells (plasma cells) which effects the thoracic spine and may also involve the spinal cord ot the nerve roots. Lymphomas are cancer of the body's lymphatic system that may spread to the spine .Usually the anterior part (front) of the spinal column is affected Ewing's Sarcoma: It affects the Sacrum or the nerves. Symptoms of Spinal Tumour Tumor may cause generalized symptoms in the body (like persistent low energy levels, unexplainable weight loss, lump formation, enlargement of lymph nodes, malaise, irregularities of menstruation in females etc as well as symptoms pertaining to the affected organ in the body. There are various ways in which spine tumour may exhibit, but the most common symptoms of spinal tumour are as follows: Back pain radiating to the other parts of the body. Loss of sensation and muscle weakness especially in the legs. Difficulty in walking, sometimes leading to falling Loss of bowel or bladder function Minimally Invasive Spinal Tumor Removal Surgery in India Some Spinal Tumors, benign or malignant, require surgical intervention before or after non-operative treatments. When pain is unresponsive to non-operative treatment, neurologic deficit progresses, a specimen is needed, neural elements (e.g. nerves) are compressed, vertebral destruction exists, or when spinal stabilization is necessary - surgery is considered. The primary goals in surgery are to reduce pain caused by the spinal tumor, restore or preserve neurologic function, and provide spinal stability. The spinal tumor may be approached surgically from the front (anterior) or back (posterior) of the body. Surgery may include tumor resection (partial removal) or excision (complete removal). When the tumor is removed (partially or completed) pain and neurologic problems may clear up. Spinal instrumentation and Fusion are procedures used to reconstruct and stabilize the spine. These procedures join and solidify the level (or levels) where a spinal element (e.g. vertebral body) has been damaged or removed. Why surgery for Spine Tumor Removal? When the tumor is removed (partially or completely) pain and neurologic problems may clear up. To restore and preserve neurological function and provide spinal stability. Spinal Tumor surgery is generally indicated in case there is a localized tumor which can be removed with minimum damage to nerve and spinal cord, There is persistent neurological deficit and pain which is unresponsive to non operative treatment Surgery may include resection (partial removal) or excision (complete removal) of tumor.

Spine Surgery in India
Spine Surgery in India Spine surgery is done in hospitals in India. This is a delicate procedure. A spinal surgeon with a lot of experience must do this surgery. The kind of surgery done in India depends on what is wrong with the patient. It also depends on how bad the symptomsre To figure out what the exact spine problem is doctors use some tests. These tests include a discography, a CT scan of the spine an MRI of the spine and electromyography. If the spine gets hurt it can be very painful. In a situation the patient may not be able to get out of bed. The spine is very important because it protects the cord and helps the body stand up straight or bend down. The spine is made up of twenty six bones called vertebrae. These vertebrae protect the cord. Over time the shape, size and location of these vertebrae can change. This can happen because of an injury a tumor, an infection or conditions like scoliosis, spondylitis, spinal stenosis and herniated discs. When the vertebrae change it can cause a lot of pain. It can also make it hard for the patient to move because it puts a lot of pressure on the nerve or spinal cord. In cases the patient may not be able to use their legs, arms or both. Spinal surgery, in India is done to fix these kinds of problems. Spine surgery can help patients who are suffering from problems. Spine Surgery Cost In India The cost of surgery is different in each country. However the spinal surgery cost in India is really low compared to other countries. The kind of surgery you will need depends on what's wrong, with your spine and how bad the problem is and where the problem is located in your spine. Discectomy / Microdiscectomy The doctor is going to remove the part of the spinal disc that is hurting a nerve. This surgery is called Microdiscectomy. It is a way to do the surgery because it does not cut much of the skin and the Microdiscectomy will help you feel better faster. The Microdiscectomy surgery is usually done for people who have a slipped disc, sciatica and nerve compression so the Microdiscectomy can really help these people. Spinal Fusion Surgery The spinal fusion process is when two or more vertebrae in the spine are connected together for good. This is usually what doctors tell people to do when they have problems, like Degenerative disc disease Spine instability Scoliosis Spine fractures The spinal fusion helps get rid of pain because it stops the bones that are hurt from moving against each other. Laminectomy (Spinal Decompression Surgery) In this kind of surgery they take out a part of the bone called the lamina. This is done to make room for the spinal cord and the nerves. They usually do this surgery for a reasons, including: Spinal stenosis Nerve compression Chronic lower back pain The surgery on the lamina is very helpful because it reduces the pressure. This is a deal for the spinal cord and the nerves. The surgery on the lamina also improves the mobility of the cord and the nerves. The main goal of the surgery on the lamina is to relieve the pressure on the cord and the nerves. The surgery on the lamina makes it easier to move. This is really important for people who have chronic lower back pain and spinal stenosis and nerve compression. The surgery on the lamina is an option, for these people because it helps with the pressure and the pain. Artificial Disc Replacement Of joining vertebrae together the damaged disc is swapped with a man-made implant. This helps keep the spine moving naturally and stays flexible. It is mainly used to fix neck and lower back disc issues, in people who're young or active. Foraminotomy This surgery makes the opening bigger where the nerve roots come out of the spine. The doctors do this surgery when there are bone spurs or disc material pushing on the nerves, which causes pain or makes your arms or legs feel numb or makes them weak. Vertebroplasty / Kyphoplasty These medical procedures are used to treat spinal compression fractures that are often caused by osteoporosis. A special kind of bone cement is put into the vertebra to make it stable and reduce the pain. In Kyphoplasty a balloon is used to help restore the height of the vertebra before the cement is injected. Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (MISS) A lot of operations these days can be done with tiny cuts really good pictures of the inside of your body and special equipment. The good things about these operations are: They hurt You get faster You will not have big scars You do not have to stay in the hospital for a long time MISS is used for things, like taking out a bad disk joining bones together making space inside your spine and other spine problems.

World Advanced Stomach Cancer Treatment in India Stomach cancer, is lead by precancerous changes in the lining of the stomach. This cancer is the result of accumulation of malignant or cancerous group of cells that is responsible for developing a tumor anywhere in the stomach. Men are more likely to suffer from stomach cancer as compared to women. This cancer has also been seen in older people who are above 55 years of age. Gastric cancer can spread to adjacent lymph nodes, and it can grow through the stomach wall to invade nearby organs such as the colon, pancreas, spleen and liver. After growing through the wall of the stomach, this cancer can also spread to the inner lining of the abdomen, the peritoneum and other organs within the abdominal cavity, such as ovaries. In addition, it can spread through the bloodstream to involve the lungs or more-distant organs. Early stomach cancer often does not cause symptoms. As the cancer grows, the most common symptoms are Discomfort or pain in the stomach area Difficulty swallowing Nausea and vomiting Weight loss Feeling full or bloated after a small meal Vomiting blood or having blood in the stool Diagnosis of Stomach Cancer If you have a symptom that suggests stomach cancer, your doctor must find out whether it is really due to cancer or to some other cause. Your doctor may refer you to a gastroenterologist, a doctor whose specialty is diagnosing and treating digestive problems. The doctor asks about your personal and family health history. You may have blood or other lab tests. You also may have Physical Exam : The doctor checks your abdomen for fluid, swelling, or other changes. The doctor also feels for swollen lymph nodes. Your skin and eyes are checked to see if they seem yellow. Upper GI series : The doctor orders x-rays of your esophagus and stomach. The x-rays are taken after you drink a barium solution. The solution makes your stomach show up more clearly on the x-rays. Endoscopy: The doctor uses a thin, lighted tube (endoscope) to look into your stomach. The doctor first numbs your throat with an anesthetic spray. You also may receive medicine to help you relax. The tube is passed through your mouth and esophagus to the stomach. Biopsy: The doctor uses an endoscope to remove tissue from the stomach. A pathologist checks the tissue under a microscope for cancer cells. A biopsy is the only sure way to know if cancer cells are present Stomach Cancer Treatment Options Available at Best Hospital in India Removing a Portion of the Stomach (Subtotal Gastrectomy) During subtotal Gastrectomy, the surgeon removes only the portion of the stomach affected by cancer. Subtotal gastrectomy can be of two types. Distal subtotal gastrectomy is performed if the tumor cells are present in the lower part of the stomach near to the stomach duodenum junction. Proximal subtotal gastrectomy is done when the tumor is situated in the upper part of the stomach and also involves the esophagus Removing the Entire Stomach (Total Gastrectomy) Total Gastrectomy involves removing the entire stomach and some surrounding tissue. The esophagus is then connected directly to the small intestine to allow food to move through your digestive system. Removing Lymph nodes to look for Cancer The surgeon examines and removes lymph nodes in your abdomen to look for cancer cells. Chemotherapy This therapy uses cancer destroying drugs for treating stomach cancer. When the cancer has invaded the stomach wall layers surrounding the lymph nodes and nearby organs then chemotherapy is given. For shrinking the tumor first, chemotherapy is given before the surgery. It can also be given after the surgery for destroying the remaining cancer cells. Chemotherapy can also be combined with radiation therapy that provides relieves from many cancer symptoms and can also delay the recurrence of the cancer. Radiation therapy Doctors may recommend radiation therapy in combination with chemotherapy or surgery. Radiation oncologists a have extensive experience in the treatment of gastric cancer, and they use specialized techniques to limit the radiation dose to surrounding healthy tissue.

Thyroidectomy
Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgical Treatment for Thyroid at World's Best Hospitals in India Thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland in your neck, just above your collarbone. It is one of your endocrine glands, which make hormones. Thyroid hormones control the rate of many activities in your body. These include how fast you burn calories and how fast your heart beats. All of these activities are your body's metabolism. If your thyroid gland is not active enough, it is called hypothyroidism. It can make you gain weight, feel fatigued, and have difficulty dealing with cold temperatures. If your thyroid is too active, it makes more thyroid hormones than your body needs. That condition is called hyperthyroidism. Too much thyroid hormone can make you lose weight, speed up your heart rate, and make you very sensitive to heat. There are many causes for both conditions. Treatment involves trying to reset your body's metabolism to a normal rate. The thyroid gland can also develop cancer. Disorders of Thyroid Hypothyroidism: This disorder attacks women more than men. Hypothyroidism results from under-active thyroid gland which results in less production of thyroid hormones that leads to lots of weight gain, hypertension and other problems. This is a very common disease which occurs in many children and aged people. Hyperthyroidism: Hyperthyroidism results from over active the thyroid glands which result in increased production of thyroid hormones which leads to over stimulation (weight loss, tension, anxiety and others). Postpartum Thyroiditis : After giving birth to a baby, a female’s thyroid glands may swell and turn larger in size. This type growth of glands to a very large extent is due to Postpartum Thyroiditis. Thyroid Cancer : Thyroid cancer is also of many types. This is due to the lump. Once you are affected by thyroid cancer, surgery is the only option. Thyroidectomy A thyroidectomy is an operation to remove all, or part, of your thyroid gland. If all of your thyroid gland is removed, it's called a total thyroidectomy. If only part of it is removed, it's called a partial thyroidectomy, a sub-total thyroidectomy or a lobectomy. A thyroidectomy is used to treat several conditions, including an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) – a condition where your thyroid gland produces and releases excess hormones an enlarged thyroid gland (goitre) cancer of your thyroid gland a cyst or benign (non-cancerous) lump on your thyroid gland Total Thyroidectomy: It is the most common of type of thyroid surgeries. With this surgery the entire gland is removed. Surgery of this type is most often used on the aggressive types of thyroid cancers such as medullary and anaplastic. It is also used in the treatment of uncontrollable hyperthyroidism/Graves’ and for goitres. When papillary and follicular thyroid cancer cells are found in both lobes a total thyroidectomy will be performed. Partial/Subtotal Thyroidectomy: It is the operation where only a portion of the gland is removed. Occasionally the isthmus and a piece of the second lobe may also be removed. This operation is used in small and non-aggressive thyroid cancers such as papillary and follicular. The thyroid cancer is contained to one lobe only. Minimally Invasive Thyroid Surgery in India Minimally invasive thyroid surgery is performed through a small 2-3cm keyhole incision placed directly over the enlarged thyroid nodule. It is generally suitable for patients with small thyroid nodules, less then 3cm in maximum diameter. Through the small incision the surgeon removes the thyroid nodules as well as the surrounding thyroid gland, taking great care not to injure the nearby nerves. The skin incision is closed and many patients can go home after an overnight stay in hospital. This technique allows the surgeon to see inside the patient’s body and operate through a much smaller incision than would otherwise be required for traditional open surgery. Compared Open Surgery with Minimally Invasive Thyroid Surgery can have the following potential benefits Faster recovery time and return to normal activities. Small incision and local anesthesia Decreased chances for complications Less bleeding and postoperative pain Fewer and/or smaller scars Minimal blood loss.

Minimally Invasive Surgeries for Kidney stone, laser prostate surgery-no pain , no cuts. HOLEP, TURP, RIRS etc. Laser Prostate Surgery, Minimally Invasive Laser Prostate (TURP) Surgery in India What is Transurethral Resection of Prostate ? Transurethral Resection of Prostate or T.U.R.-Prostate or T.U.R.P. is a treatment of choice if the enlarged prostate gland compresses on the urethra resulting in obstruction of urinary outflow. In the TURP, the glandular tissue is removed in small chips or pieces as opposed to Radical Prostatectomy where the prostate gland is removed in it's entirety. T.U.R.P. is an endoscopic procedure where the prostate gland can be visualized while it is being resected. Prostatic surgery or Prostatectomy comprises other form of surgery such as Suprapubic prostatectomy, Transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP), Open prostatectomy, Laser prostatectomy, Transurethral needle ablation,(TUNA). On the basis of the size of the prostate gland, different kind of prostatic procedures are decided. TURP is performed on the glands bigger than 30 grams and less than 80 grams. But if the prostate gland is bigger than 90 grams, open prostatectomy is performed. Prostatic surgery is not performed on the patients having bood clotting disorder or bladder disease (neurogenic bladder). Irregular or absent periods Hormone imbalance Smoking or alcohol use Endometriosis Fibroids History of infertility Minimally Invasive Laser Prostate (TURP) Surgery in India Laser Prostatectomy Laser prostatectomy or Laser for prostatic surgery is recently developed minimally invasive treatment modalities for patients having BPH i.e benign prostatic hyperplasia or benign prostatic hypertrophy. The term Benign prostatic hyperplasia or benign prostatic hypertrophy means increase in size of the prostate gland in the men above 50 years of age. Laser Prostatectomy is used mainly to remove the prostate gland when there is no cancer in it but its size enlarges due to which it creates problem in the urinary tract. Laser prostatectomy is a short and easy procedure, usually after which the patient can return to their home on the day of operation itself. Procedure for laser prostatic Surgery Patients who has a history of BPH are recommended by their doctors to undergo laser prostatic surgery as because they cannot be treated by the medical therapy. Before the surgery the patients has to undergo several preoperative measurements like American Urologic Association symptom score, Uroflowmetry, Prostate-specific antigen and Transrectalultrasonography (TRUS). Laser prostatectomy uses beams of light to destroy prostate tissue. It is mainly done under the use of regional anesthesia. This laser beam helps in destroying any prostate tissue which blocks the opening of the urethra and bladder outlet. After the laser prostatic surgery, the rate of urine flow improves and reduces the symptoms of BPH. A Foley catheter may be placed in the patient body after the surgery to help in emptying the bladder. For few days after the surgery catheter usually remains in place. Types of Most Advanced Minimally Invasive Laser Prostate (TURP) Surgery in India Greenlight Laser Treatment For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia The GreenLight Laser treatment therapy is the most effective, novel and advanced technique for the treatment of an enlarged prostate, which is clinically referred to as Benign Prostratic Hyperplasia (BPH). The treatment involves a laser beam therapy which evaporates the enlarged prostatic tissue that presses on the outlet of the urinary bladder causing urinary outflow obstruction symptoms. The procedure involves the use of a high powered system (80-120 watts), which generates laser beams, which vaporizes the extra prostatic tissue. This is unlike other procedures like Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP), which use electrical current to burn the tissue, and also puts the surrounding structures at risk of being burnt and destroyed. Holmium Laser Enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) is a modern alternative to the standard Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP) procedure for bladder outflow obstruction due to BPH. It requires a short period of hospitalisation and an anaesthetic. A catheter (a tube which drains the bladder) is also needed for 1-2 days until the urine clears. Patients are advised to take life quietly and to avoid straining or heavy lifting for four weeks after the surgery. Conventional vs Laser Prostatectomy/ TURP: For the conventional TURP, the resectoscope, a combined visual and surgical instrument is used, whereas the Laser procedure involves use of advanced laser energy to cut excess gland, thus there is no loss of blood & shorter hospitalization is required Blood thinning agents have to be stopped a week to 10 days before the procedure for conventional TURP, which puts the heart at risk, whereas the laser TURP is done with the blood thinning agents on board, which is highly beneficial for cardiac patients. Conventional TURP allows tissue removal at only 1gram/min, whereas laser can vaporize tissue as fast as 3-4 grams/ min. For prostates larger than 100gm, open surgery is required in case of conventional TURP, whereas lasers can effectively perform surgery in such large prostate cases
